Phonics and early reading

Phonics is used as the prime approach to teaching early reading. The Bug Club phonics program underpins our phonics teaching and the order in which we teach the sounds. However, we use a range of approaches to deliver lessons, such as activities from Letters and Sounds.  Further details of phonics teaching and provision can be found below:

Reading

Reading is supported by a range of reading materials, including Bug Club, Rigby Star  and Oxford Reading Tree Schemes.
