As part of their ongoing learning about Christianity, year 2 were fortunate enough to visit St John the Baptist Church in town. Year 2 were met by Reverend Steven Sivyer who greeted us outside the Church and spoke to us about the features outside and inside the Church. The Vicar then sent us on a scavenger hunt around the Church to find all different objects and symbols that are important within Christianity. We then had the opportunity to ask the Vicar some questions about the Church and his job.
Lark Class really enjoyed taking part in the Islam Workshop as part of our ongoing RE learning. We took part in a quiz, games and drama-based activities too! It was such a great way to get us thinking about different religions and significant religious events that we don’t always have an opportunity to experience.
This half term we are focusing on bridges as part of our D&T learning. We have been inspired to create our own bridges out of cardboard tubes and card. This was incredibly tricky as we had to make sure that our bridges could support the weight of a small Lego person!
