In June Children from year 3 are encouraged to write and apply for a SPOT job around school.

These jobs are then allocated by the head teacher.

The existing year 4 children teach the year 3 children how to do their jobs ready for when they are in year 4.

The jobs help the children develop independence and a sense of responsibility,

The jobs the SPOT children do:

• Assembly preparation
• Litter collecting
• Registers
• Dining room helpers
• Helping in reception class during lunchtime
• Buddying in the playgrounds at lunchtime

This all helps the smooth running of the school and gives the pupils independence in their chosen tasks
