The Gingerbread Man finished off his journey by visiting two countries this month – Italy and Greece.
Whilst in Italy, we looked at the 3 colours of the Italian flag and made our own tri-coloured flags as we learnt how to use watercolour paint. In our maths skills, we made repeating patterns using 3 colours. We made our own pizzas, using different tools to cut a circle shape, spread the sauce and cut up the ingredients – they were very yummy!
In Greece, we talked about where it is on the map and how some of us are going to Greece on our holiday this year! We used different objects from around the classroom to use for printing. We listened to the Trojan Horse story and talked about how the characters in the story would have been feeling.
During our last week of term, we have been learning about the celebration of Easter. We listened to the Easter story and talked about how we celebrate Easter with our families. We made our own chocolate nest cakes and an Easter wreath. In our Explorer time, we planted sunflower and marigold seeds to take home.
